With a profound sense of purpose, we have pledged to contribute 50% of our profits from the products sold through our display centers directly to these artisans, craftsmen, and designers.

Retail, Retailer & Retailing

Numerous forms continue to be developed in response to consumer and retailer convenience. The retailing network can be divided into two major groups to better understand the different types of retailers and their functions: (a) store retailing and (b) non-store retailing. The retailing activity goes through four stages, including embryonic, growth, maturity, and decline, just like the growth cycle of business firms. A retail establishment experiences an extended period of rapid expansion, matures, and then starts to decline. In terms of sales volume, consumer coverage, and chain store expansion, it has been observed that traditional retail stores needed more than 50 years to achieve a mature state.

A Catalyst for Sustainable Livelihoods

Our initiative aims to generate employment opportunities for more than 4000 artisans, craftsmen, and job seekers directly, with an additional 2000 individuals benefiting indirectly through contract work and unskilled labor. We firmly believe that retail can be a commendable endeavor, facilitating sustainable livelihoods for the skilled artisans of Uttar Pradesh while serving as a forward linkage platform.

The UP MSME Mart offers an extensive range of distinctive gifting items, each sourced directly from artisans situated in all 74 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These skilled artisans have undergone comprehensive training provided by UPICON under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of Uttar Pradesh. This visionary initiative not only helps the artisans gain recognition for their talents but also enables buyers to learn more about the creators of these exquisite products.
